It was just me and the boys, what more could a girl ask for? I loved working on the From Britten P/L for Wella Professionals - these two brothers Alexander and Tim Britten-Finschi are seriously talented designers. Having just won the prestigious LMFF Designers Award we wanted to deliver sharp shapes and have a little fun for MBFWA! My team cut & styled using Sebastian’s incredible range of styling products. I loved working with the visionaries that are Pam Easton & Lydia Pearson who together create the Australian label Easton Pearson. Supported by the Cloud Nine Team and of course my amazing stylists from our salons!. The show was called Hyper Real - the hair was inspired by the women in the Hitchcock films - think The Birds, Marnie. A exaggerated french roll with hyper colours. Manicure & Pedicures by Miss Frou Frou in Bashful Pink, Zest, Tang & New Blur.
Start by sectioning the hair into 5 equal sections vertically down the head. One in the centre and 2 each side and clip away. Take the top of each section and set with The O Rollers by Cloud Nine to start to give volume and shape to the hair. Leave to cool.
While the top of the hair is setting and cooling, starting with the centre, begin to tease bottom half of the hair. Repeat for all sections.
With the Cloud Nine Wand set to high, roll the whole section of hair, one at a time around the barrel starting from the end. Curl the hair the same direction as whichever way you will have the finished roll on. Repeat for all sections
Liberally spray hair with hairspray and gently brush out your side section, leaving the centre as padding. Remove TheO Rollers from the top of the hair and mist with hairspray. Gently tease hair and with your wand set to high, curl the midlegths of the hair haphazardly. Clip the top crown section of hair away and starting on the right side of the head, brush all sections back towards the middle. Secure and spray.
Twist the hair around allowing for lots of height to create the French roll. Secure with one large bobbly pin the centre of the roll.
Once in place, pull the top section back out using a mason pearson brush. Tease at roots and dust with texture powder. Gently pull back in place messily as desired. Finish with generous amounts of coloured hairspray
Mason Mulholland is quite the visionary. As model I have had the pleasure of working with him and as an artist we are so very honoured to feature his incredible work on the walls at Valonz. We love this creative! Take a look at his blog Mason Mulholland to see more of his inspiring artwork.
