There are so many ways to create a pony tail… Why not try something a little bit different? Here’s a modern take on the classic ponytail. Start by parting the hair in the centre, put some Wella SP Elegant Mousse in the roots for volume and Wella Ocean Spritz for texture.

Then blow dry the hair through.

Part the hair to the centre and run your hands through the roots to break up the product.

Taking some Cloud 9 wide irons smooth the hair out from roots to ends so that it leaves the hair smooth like glass.

Take a centre part and then divide the back section and start a tight braid from top of the crown to nape of the neck and secure with an elastic, leaving the tail loose.

Using the Cloud 9 wide irons, repeat the process of soothing the remaining loose hair to keep it looking smooth and glossy.

Then pull all the loose hair towards the back of the head, holding it loosely about an inch from the nape of the neck.

Whilst holding the hair, slowly push the hair up into the nape so that you create a bulge and allow the hair around the face fall out and loosen.

Tie the hair with an elastic preferably a bungee as this is a neat finish and it very secure when used correctly.

To finish spray with Wella SP Sublime Reflection Spray only onto the ponytail and then spray with Wella SP Perfect Hold Hairspray.

My latest work in Cosmopolitan with the beautiful Jennifer Hawkins channelling a little 60’s sex kitten. I really love working with her, the fringe looks great on her, it’s good to see her with a slight change in her look.
